Caretaker chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ahmed Makarfi, has met with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida and Governor Sani Bello of Niger state.
Makarfi did not meet with both leaders alone.
Chairman of the party’s Convention Planning Committee, governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was also there as they briefed the former Nigerian leader on their preparedness for Saturday’s elective convention.
The PDP officials met with Babangida at his residence for about one hour, before meeting with governor Bello at the Government House, Minna.
Plans to woo Bello
It was gathered that there were plans to woo Bello back to the PDP, but his media aide, Jide Orintunsin, said it was mere speculation.
Other members on the team that visited the former military president included Taraba state governor, Dairus Ishaku; Hon. Abdul Ningi and Senator Ben Obi, National Secretary of the caretaker committee.
