A member of the national caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sam Nkire, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, to ensure politicians are appointed ministers in the next cabinet reshuffle.
Speaking on Sunday, Nkire said what the South East needs are ministers and political appointees who can boost the popularity of the party in the region.
The APC chieftain said some pioneer APC members from the South East sold their property and borrowed money to print and paste posters, hired buses and funded rallies in their various states for Buhari and Osinbajo, during the 2015 general elections.
Nkire said that it is difficult for victorious APC members to live in a situation where they watch non-members reap where they did not sow.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) experience has shown that the so-called experts and technocrats are greater thieves than politicians.
