Arsene Wenger is banking on Aaron Ramsey to do the damage and end Manchester City’s unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Arsenal face highflying City in a Super Sunday clash and the Frenchman believes the Welshman is capable of clipping the wings of the league leaders.

“I think he is calmer now in the final third. He used to rush his decisions a little bit, in his execution,” Wenger said ahead of the showdown.  “But he is more mature. He is 27, the best age for a midfielder.”

Explaining why Ramsey is deployed in a wide role, the  former Monaco Manager says he plays “him wider sometimes to balance the team because he can give you that defensive work on the flanks.

“But I like him central. He’s now more reliable tactically and defensively than he was two or three years ago. He is a big player for us.”

The midfielder has been in fine form for the Gunners since his redeployment to a central position.
