The Somalia government says the death toll in last weekend’s twin blast in Mogadishu has risen to 358 on Friday.
Aside this, over 228 persons have been reportedly injured in an attack regarded as the deadliest in the country’s history.
According to government officials, Somalia’s President, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, will announce a “state of war” against the al-Shabaab extremist group blamed for the bombing.
Reports indicate that the United States will play a major role in the new offensive which seeks to push al-Shabaab fighters out of their strongholds in the Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle regions.
Also, the offensive will cover Somali and African Union base.
The Somali capital has been a target by the dreaded al-Shabaab terrorists in recent times.
