President Muhammadu Buhari has renewed the tenure of the Managing Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Uchechi Orji.
This comes after the National Economic Council had in July endorsed the renewal of Orji’s appointment.
Orji was appointed to the office in 2012 for a five-year term with the option of renewal according to Section 16(2) of the NSIA Act.
This is contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.
The statement lauded the strides made by the NSIA under Orji’s stewardship, pointing to the increase in its assets which he put at over $2bn.
