Gospel artiste Tasha Cobbs has reacted to the criticisms she received from her ‘Godly’ audience for featuring Nicki Minaj in a song.
The singer, whose fourth album “Heart” was celebrated after its release, received angry reactions from fans after they listened to one of the songs titled “I am getting ready”.
The outspoken singer then explained to Essence Magazine that Nicki has a relationship with God.
“I’ve seen the Nicki that is off the stage and that Nicki has a great relationship with God.My assignment with this song was for a particular audience.
”Some of the listeners have never experienced God ever and she exposed that audience in her way, to the God that she loves,” the award winning gospel artiste told Essence Magazine.
Speaking about the testimonies that have come from the song, she spoke positivity, emphasising that she would do a song like that again.
“This is not an assignment that man gave to me. This is an assignment that God gave to me, and He prepared the way for me, as only God could”
Tasha became a gospel icon after her first album release, ‘Smile’ in 2010.
She has since released an EP which has earned her a No 61 stand on the 200 Billboard chart and No 2 stand on the Top gospel album chart.
She won her first Grammy Awards in 2014 under the Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance category and GMA Dove Gospel Artiste of the year in 2015.
