The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Saleh Dunoma, has said the agency has commenced the process of ending touting and other vices at airports across the country.
In a statement released by Henrietta Yakubu, the acting General Manager, Corporate Affair, Dunoma said the development is part of efforts to implement the executive order signed by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo had ordered that touting by official or unofficial persons be brought to an end at all the ports of entry to the country and that all duty staff must be properly identified by uniform and official cards.
The acting president also instructed that all off-duty staff members must stay away from the ports except with the express approval of the agency head.
The FAAN boss stressed that there must be full compliance, as the necessary machinery has been put in place to ensure a successful implementation of the order.
Dunoma also urged passengers, airport users and the general public to cooperate with FAAN officials saddled with the task of carrying out the responsibility.
