Arsenal’s target, Henry Onyekuru has insisted that he is ‘ready’ for the challenge of the Premier League as he reportedly edges towards a move to to the North London club.
The 19-year-old Nigerian striker, had a fine season in Belgium finishing as the league’s joint-top scorer, scoring 22 goals for Eupen in his debut season in the top-flight.
Onyekuru has been repeatedly linked with a move to England, as he once revealed that Thierry Henry is his idol.
The attacker is expected to leave Belgium during the summer and he said he is ‘ready’ for the demands of Premier League football.
“Everything is possible. Anderlecht, Club Brugge, England … I still haven’t decided.
“I have had fun in Belgium, but I have always dreamed of the Premier League,” he said.
When asked if he is ready to move to an English club, Onyekuru replied saying, “Believe is not the right word. I know I’m ready – I’m sure of that.
“I don’t want to decide too quickly. Because it’s a decision for life, which is very important for my family and myself.’
The Gunners are expected to bolster Arsene Wenger’s options at the end of the season and are said to be considering meeting Onyekuru’s £6.8million buy-out clause.
