Spokesman of the federation, Ademola Olajire, stated this while speaking on the list of players available to coach Gernot Rohr, for upcoming World Cup and AFCON qualifiers.

“The coach does not want to take any chances, so he has a list of players he would be relying on to play the matches.

“The Nigerian football federation has secured Nigerian passport for Ola Aina, Joel Bazee. We are working on that of Tammy Abrahams and others.

“We want the best players in the national team, so we are not taking any chances at all.”

Germany friendly

The spokesman also stated that there is no chance the Super Eagles will take on world champions Germany in an international friendly this year, owing to the fact that the world champions already have their scheduled games lined-up.

“The NFF is doing everything possible to prepare the Super Eagles for the World and Nations Cup qualifications.

“We have a qualified licensed agent who is working assiduously to organise top friendlies during the FIFA Windows.

He said apart from the Corsica friendly, the agent is working on other possible games.

“However, we cannot play Germany this year in any FIFA windows. As world champions, they plan their program all year and are very busy and Nigeria does not feature in any of their friendly plans this year,” he added.
