Justice Kudirat Akano, the trial judge, gave the order on Friday.

The suspects were arrested over their alleged involvement in the clash between Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas in Ile-Ife which claimed many lives.

The prosecutor had earlier filed an application for the suspects to be kept in detention after they pleaded not guilty to the 14 counts of murder, armed robbery, arson and others brought against them.

The defence counsel, Muritala Agboola, however objected to the application, but Justice Akano overruled it.

The suspects, on 26 April, were arraigned before the Justice Akano-led court sitting in Osogbo.
