The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has disclosed that the Federal Government loses more than N10 billion monthly because of inactivity at Tin Can Port Area two, Lily Pond, Ijora, Lagos.

Olufemi Olabanji, Chairman of the Association, Tin Can two Area Command, who made this known on Monday, said the terminal had the capacity to handle 25,000 containers.

Underutilised facilities

He noted that the Tin Can Area two command at Lilypond has the capacity to take 15,000 containers and an export bay that can take 10,000 containers.

“Lilypond has a facility for export and it is underutilized and we appeal to the Federal Government to do something urgent to reverse this trend,” he said.


Olabanji urged the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Nigerian Ports Authority, Nigerian Shippers` Council to ensure that ships are stemmed to Lilypond terminal.
