The copyright case between Nollywood actress-cum-movie producer Omoni Oboli and Canada-based scriptwriter Jude Idada has been adjourned.
The copyright infringement case on Omoni Oboli’s movie “Okafor’s Law” onwhich was presided over by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, has been adjourned to May 17, 2017.
Omoni’s greatest challenge
Omoni faced the greatest challenge in her career following allegations of copyright infringement by Jude Idada which affected the movie launch.
Earlier in March, Justice Buba had ordered that each copy of the movie be seized upon clarification of the infringement charges.
However, on the 30th of March, 2017, the injunction on the movie was lifted and the actress quickly released copies of the movie to Nigerian cinemas.
It was gathered that she was absent on the first and second hearing of the case but made her debut appearance in court on Monday
She was accompanied by her colleague Zeb Ejiro, who was there to offer her moral support.
