Nollywood veteran thespian Joke Silva has called on filmmakers to continuously address the stigma tied to domestic violence among African women.
Silva, a major stakeholder in the project to stop the menace in Africa titled ‘Light in the dark’, said the need to tackle this major societal problem in Africa cannot be overstressed.
Domestic violence curbed through films
Another Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic, has said that films centred on reducing this beastly act in Africa, should be the utmost concern for the continental movie producers.
In a similar vein, film writer, Ekene Som Mekwunye, opined that the power of visuals will paint a better picture of the societal decadence to Nigerians.
