The CEO of Capital Oil Dr Ifeanyi Ubah has denied reports that he was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday.
According to Guardian, Ubah spoke to its correspondent on the telephone and denounced the speculations, adding that the rumours were a propaganda against him.
”If I am arrested, I would not be talking with you now. They should continue writing, but those who are in doubt should come and watch football match tomorrow because I would be there,” he said.
It was reported that the founder of FC Ifeanyiubah was arrested and detained by DSS on Thursday morning.
But an aide of the businessman and oil magnate who pleaded anonymity said all attempt to smear the good name of his boss would be ”in futility”.
”I can tell you that my boss’s good name in the country today cannot be smeared. He is a hardworking businessman. All these propaganda about him is because he has become a big force to be reckoned with in Nigeria,” he said.
