Former Arsenal safe hands Jens Lehmann has told Arsene Wenger he must make up his mind on his  Arsenal future now for the good of the club.

Lehman made this known in an interview with talkSPORT.

Wenger is out of contract in the summer and has yet to make known his plans: whether he is staying or leaving.

And, after Wednesday’s humiliating defeat at the hands of ruthless Bayern Munich, Lehmann said it was unfair to keep everyone guessing.

“If Arsene wants to extend his contract, he should do it now so that everybody is clear what is going on and they can make the decision of signing new players.

“If not, he also has to make his decision now.”

Arsenal fans express frustration

The Arsenal boss is currently not in the good books of most of the club’s faithful.

And with the club heading for a 13th successive season without winning the Premier League and their Champions League hopes all but completely ruined, the pressure on the Frenchman is palpable.

And Lehmann, who was part of the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ that won the Premier League title undefeated in 2004,  admits an imminent exit is looking increasingly likely.

“What was a surprise to me is that after they conceded the third goal [against Bayern] the Arsenal fans were celebrating their own club, which I found amazing, but then after the final whistle they booed their own team and that was a surprise to me because I have never seen that before,” said the German.

“These little signs show you what the mood of the fans is like and where the club is going and I think there will be some changes in the summer.”
