Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney along with Michael Carrick and Phil Jones missed training on Wednesday ahead of their side’s Europa League game with Saint-Etienne on Thursday.
The Red Devils welcome the French side to Old Trafford for the first leg of their last 32 tie.
And it was reported that Rooney, Carrick and Jones were the most conspicuous absentees from the 23-man squad at the club’s Aon Training Complex west of Manchester.
Jose Mourinho has not featured Jones since he sustained a foot injury in United’s recent 0-0 draw with Hull City.
Rooney and Carrick, on the other hand, were both on the bench for last Saturday’s 2-0 triumph over Watford.
