Operatives of the Lagos State Task Force have announced the arrest and prosecution of over 200 hoodlums and night marauders at Oshodi area of the state.
Chairman of the agency, Olayinka Egbeyemi, who made this known, said the task force apprehended the miscreants during a raid in the middle of the night.
He further disclosed that the raid was carried out on the directive of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode through the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.
He said, the hoodlums were raided along railway lines, markets and under bridge at Oshodi between 12am and 3am at the weekend.
The task force boss also revealed that an ex-convict, just released from Potoki Prison at Badagry, was among those arrested.
Egbeyemi commended Ambode for his efforts at re-developing Oshodi and other parts of the state.
He also enjoined members of the public to always furnish security outfits with information on any criminal activity around their area.
According to The Guardian, Femi Adisa, who was among those arrested, confirmed that he was an ex-convict.
Adisa disclosed that he was released from Potoki Prison at Badagry on Monday, February 6, 2017, after serving a six-month imprisonment for a case of robbery.
The 43-year- old, who hails from Igbogi, Ilesha in Osun State, said he was arrested by the Lagos State Task Force in September, 2016, for snatching a Samsung phone under Oshodi bridge.
