Stargardt Is A Rare Eye Condition That Leaves A Blurry Vision

Purdie from Denver Colorado had been suffering from Stargardt which is a rare eye disease that weakens the retina, leaving the center of one’s vision blurry.

Although, Purdie was blind, according to his wife called Joy, he was very involved and active with his family.

Despite the fact that his family was accustomed to his ailment, Purdie’s fate changed when Joy saw a miracle on Rachael Ray show.

From Joy’s screen, she saw that Racheal Ray had volunteered to help a Stargardt’s patient, with the use of a technology that demonstrated how the sight could be restored.

On her knowledge of Racheal Ray’s technology, she wrote an extensive and compassionate letter to the host of the show on behalf of her husband.

literally began shaking and crying for the next hour or more at the thought of my husband being able to see my face for the first time, to see our son for the first time.” Joy wrote.

Ray who was touched by Joys letter, made the family appear on the show, along with their lovable one-year-old baby boy, Lincoln.

During the show, Purdie told Ray that for 15 years, he had waited for some kind of invention, some kind of technology that would make it possible for people in his condition to see.

Prosthetic Eye Device Restores Stargardt Patient’s Vision

The propelling solution which had an HD camera in it, was a prosthetic eye device, designed to provide a customized image for the wearer.

According to sharebly.net, once the device is won by the patient, he will be able to see, like Purdie who saw his wife and child for the first time while the video feed was broadcast to the room as well.
