The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is reported to have begun talks to merge with other political parties so as to create a strong alliance ahead of the 2019 general elections.
This was made known by Prof. Jerry Gana, the Chairman of the party’s Strategy Review and Inter-Party Affairs Committee, while submitting the committees’ report to the party leadership.
“Our desire is to have all genuine democrats and friends of the people to flow together and provide a fresh and trustworthy leadership to promote and ensure a people-friendly process of national development,” he said.
The PDP has been rocked by crises since losing the presidency at the 2015 general election leading to the party breaking into factions.
