The police in Lagos may not allow Tuface to embark on any protest, as they fear the planned demonstration could be ‘hijacked’ by hoodlums, according to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Fatai Owoseni.
The police boss in Lagos expressed fears that the superstar artiste does not have the capacity to contain the expected crowd in the metropolis and hence the force will not allow the protest.
Tuface, also known as Tubaba, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, recently disclosed his plan on his Instagram page, stating that he intends to lead a nationwide protest on 5 February.
The widely celebrated singer said he would lead the protest against the Federal Government over the country’s economic recession among other issues affecting the most populous black nation in the world.
But Owoseni said the police will not allow such protest, as he revealed that they have received an intelligence report that hoodlums and criminals were planning to take advantage of the demonstration to cause violence in the state.
“We know that Tuface does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,” he said.
