According to the WABetaInfo account on Twitter, Whatsapp is working on new features that will track the live location of members. This will allow users to do real-time tracking of their friends and edit sent messages.

The new feature will work on the WhatsApp beta version 184.108.40.206 for iOS and 2.16.399+ on Android and will be disabled by default.
On Monday, phonearena.com reported that “the tracking can be kept on for 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or indefinitely.” This comes in handy for those friends who are home but say they are just five minutes away from the meet-point and also has security advantages.
The feature can be disabled if you wish to not share your location with friends.
According to The News, the Live Location Tracking is disabled by default, which means that WhatsApp needs to activate it when it is ready to be launched.
This comes on the heels of the beta testing of adding revoke and edit sent messages features which is currently available in Whatsapp beta for iOS 2,17,1,869 platform.
