Mountain of Fire head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has urged his players to put the agonising 1-1 draw at Shooting Stars behind them as they look to bounce back on Sunday against Kano Pillars.

The Lagos club were headed for a famous win in Ibadan in Wednesday’s midweek game before Abayomi Adebayo converted a spot kick at the death to salvage a point for the Oluyole Warriors.

In spite of the draw, MFM climbed to third in the table with seven points from four matches, while Shooting Stars dropped to 15th.

And Ilechukwu afterwards commended his players for a brave performance in Nigeria’s largest city

“I want to appreciate my boys for yesterday’s performance against Shooting Stars of Ibadan. I want to appreciate them because of the character and quality they showed towards the game.

“We have put the game behind us and I told the players to focus on our game against Kano Pillars which is another important game for us.

“The last time they came they drew at our home but this time around, by the special grace of God, we will do everything possible to beat Kano Pillars because it’s very important that we beat them,” Ilechukwu told
