It was the first time the Reds lost a league game at home for almost a year, putting their title bid in jeopardy.

And Gylfi Sigurdsson is a man every Liverpool faithful will not be happy to see at least for now. He was the one who scored from close range with 16 minutes left to give Paul Clement his first win as Swans manager.

First Swansea win at Anfield

That win is also Swansea’s first on the road against Liverpool.

Earlier, Roberto Firmino found the net twice to draw Jurgen Klopp’s side level. That happened after Fernando Llorente had scored two goals in four minutes in the second half

The defeat means leaders Chelsea now look down on Liverpool with a distance of seven points. And the Blues have a game in hand, at home against Hull on Sunday.

Swansea, on the other hand, have climbed to 17th in the table after winning an unlikely game, their second in eight.
