That brings us to the end of the coverage of today’s Gameweek 2 games. Join us tomorrow for the game between El-kanemi Warriors and Wikki Tourists.

Thank you.

FT Niger Tornadoes 1-1 ABS With so much to prove to their fans, themselves and viewers, the Tornadoes could only draw at home against ABS. The draw puts ABS second on the table behind Abia Warriors and one of three teams that have not lost yet.

FT Nassarawa 1-1 Rangers Two draws on the trot for the home team and the Champions, Rangers’ first point of the campaign. They left it late but would be happy to return to Enugu with it.

FT Akwa United 1-1 Rivers Sharing of the spoils in this South-South derby. No victor. No vanquished. Scratch that, I think the home team would rue not taking the maximum points at home.

FT Lobi Stars 1-0 Kano Pillars Lobi Stars held their nerve and the shape as they saw off Kano Pillars by a goal scored in the first half.

FT Abia Warriors 2-0 Katsina Utd A well-deserved win for the Warriors. Two wins in  row. Only team with maximum points after two games. They seem to have taken the shine off Enyimba and given the people of Abia something to smile about, A goalline clearance was all that stopped it being 3-0.

FT Plateau Utd 3-1 Enyimba The away team looked a shadow of the side that once ruled the country and the continent. An impressive display by Plateau United.

FT Gombe Utd 2-1 Remo Stars Gombe completed their comeback while leaving Remo to continue their search for a first league win and point.

FT FC IfeanyiUbah 4-0 MFM. It was a class in fire extinguishing. A masterclass. Outplayed out-*insert verb*.

FT Sunshine Stars 1-0 Shooting Stars The Oluyole Warriors could not hold on till the end. A late goal by the home team did them in.

87′ GOAL! Comeback complete. Gombe United take the lead via Fabassou Djoufoune. Oladapo turned provider this time. Man of the match stuff, in my opinion. Gombe Utd 2-1 Remo Stars #GOMREM.

86′ Fatai Amoo throws on Afolabi Waheed for Merenini Junior. Too late? 4 minutes plus stoppage time before we know. Sunshine 1-0 3SC #SUNSHO.

84′ GOAL! FC Ifeanyiubah 4-0 MFM #IFEMFM. Ifeanyi Onuigbo scores his first goal for FCIU. This is a massacre. Not the Valentine’s Day massacre though. That goal puts FCIU goal difference in the positive.

82′ GOAL! Ibenegbu pulls one back for the People’s Elephant. Looks more like a consolation goal than the start of a comeback. Plateau Utd 3-1 Enyimba #PLAENY.

80′ GOAL! Plateau Utd 3-0 Enyimba #PLAENY. Emeka Umeh fires in from close range to make it three. Assist by Kabiru Umar. There is no coming back from this. Enyimba would be leaving for Calabar empty-handed.

80′ Okemiri shot cleared off the line. That would have made it 3 nil. The first two Gameweeks of the NPFL have been quite highscoring. Abia Warriors 2-0 Katsina United #ABIKAT.

78′ GOAL! The pressure has finally told and tradition continues. Sunshine Stars finally score through Sunday Oluwadamilare. No middle ground in this game. Always, there is a winner and a loser. No sharing of the spoils. Sunshine 1-0 3SC #SUNSHO.

75′ Pillars bring on Kabuga in place of Gyang. He has 15 minutes to make an impact on this game. Lobi 1-0 Pillars #LOBPIL. Kwambe almost doubles the lead.

72′ The Akure Gunners are pushing for the win now. Putting it all on the line. Abubakar was all that stood between them and goal there. Sunshine 0-0 3SC #SUNSHO.

67′ GOAL! Nasarawa 1-1 Rangers #NASRAN. Game on! The Champions are back in it. Goal scored by Fortune Omoniwari.

66′ FC Ifeanyiubah 3-0 MFM #IFEMFM. FC Ifeanyiubah sub. King Osanga makes way for Brazilian, Alberico Da Silva. Yes, you read that right. Brazilian. We move.

66′ SUBSTITUTION Shooting Stars make a change. Sunday Faleye comes on for Ebitimi Agogu. Sunshine 0-0 3SC #SUNSHO.

63′ For a moment there, it looked like the game had birthed its first goal but it is ruled out for offside.Sunshine 0-0 3SC #SUNSHO.

60′ Sunshine 0-0 3SC #SUNSHO. Sunshine corner is whipped in. Ayo Saka heads it off target. This derby is about to be the first shared points between the two teams in their last 6 meetings.

GOAL! Just came in. The deadlock in the #NASRAN game has been broken. 49th minute. Nasarawa 1-0 Rangers #NASRAN. Adamu Hassan gives Nasarawa the lead. Assist by Ishaya Anyu.

55′ GOAL! Plateau Utd 2-0 Enyimba #PLAENY. Kabiru Umar finishes off Ingbede’s cross to double Plateau’s lead. The Elephants are being detusked.

54′ GOAL! The first goal of the second half is scored by Olulayo for the Abia Warriors after a throughball by Obi Samson. That is his first goal since 2015. Abia Warriors 2-0 Katsina United #ABIKAT.

55′ The #SUNSHO and #NASRAN games are still goalless.

53′ That was close! ouch. Would have hurt not to see that go in as Pillars’ Gyang nearly evens the score. What a save by the goalkeeper. It remains Lobi 1-0 Pillars #LOBPIL

51′ Yellow card to Katsina’s Ado Ali for a rough tackle. It is still one-nil in favour of the home team. #ABIKAT.

46′ Scorelines remain the same. No goals yet as we draw nearer to end of Gameweek 2 matches.

46′ Sunshine 0-0 3SC #SUNSHO. We are back underway in this derby.

46′ 2nd half underway. 1-0 #ABIKAT

We are up and running again. It is the star of the second half. We see if MFM can pull an Arsenal, if the Elephants would have the last trumpet and wait for the champions to find their range.
