A 29-year-old labourer, Abu Hurena, was remanded on Monday in Ikoyi Prisons, after allegedly stabbing his friend to death with a pair of scissors, over a missing clock.

However, the accused denied the charge of manslaughter leveled against him before an Ikeja High Court, State prosecutor Y.G Oshoala, told the court that the accused committed the offence on the 28th of June, 2014 at 4.00 am, in his residence located at 38, Ola Akinbo street, Ijegun, Lagos.
“On that fateful day, the deceased confronted the defendant, accusing him of stealing a wall clock belonging to Malam Suraj.” he explained,
Adding that “The confrontation led to a physical fight during which the accused picked a pair of scissors and stabbed Isiaka twice both in the chest and the stomach,”
According to the prosecutor, days after the manslaughter, the stolen wall clock was found at a refuse dump in an abandoned building.
The case was however, adjourned by Justice Josephine Oyefeso to March 20 for trial.
