Nigerian champions Rangers have completed the signing of Fortune Omoniwari from Akwa United and four others, with 24 hours to their NPFL season opener against Abia Warriors.
Other players now on the club’s payroll include Abdulafeez Awakan also from Akwa United and Chizoba Amaefula from Abia Warriors.
Former Giwa FC Midfield strongman Charles Henlong has also joined the Enugu, while Daniel Etor has switched to The Cathedral from rivals Enyimba.
Speaking after the unveiling, Coach of the Flying Antelopes Imama Amapakabo said the club would unveil another additional five players soon.
Amapakabo noted that the seven-time champions retained 24 of their old players for the new season.
“With these new and experienced players; Rangers will be at the best of its games and ensure that the expected winning streak is maintained.
“They would be featuring in our Sunday’s match against Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu,’’ he said.
The coach assured the teeming fans of the Antelopes that they would not disappoint them in the 2016/2017 season.
