Fifteen players have been acquired by Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) to strengthen the side ahead of the upcoming 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The club’s Director of Football Alloy Chuwkuemeka disclosed that the players were carefully acquired as the NPFL returnees have their eye focused on a continental ticket at the end of the season.
Chuwkuemeka made this known during the unveiling ceremony for the new players held at the club’s base in Ilorin, Kwara State.
He expressed confidence in the squad, assuring fans of the club, particularly the people of Kwara State, that ABS will make them proud.
In his remarks, the Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Bolakale Ayo was reported to have commended the side for their doggedness in returning to the NPFL.
The Sports commissioner was said to have promised the team more support in their quest for a worthy representation this season.
Some of the new players as obtained from the LMC website are Adewale Adeyinka from the Kwara Football Academy (KFA), Ferinyaro Abdullahi from Niger Tornadoes, Wasiu Alalade from First Bank and Metu Chigozirim from Gateway United.
Also unveiled were Kehinde Idowu (Kwara United), Anthony Ebuka (Cofine FC), Bassey Effiong (Niger Tornadoes) and Stone Evbuomwan (COD United).
Others are Chindo Abubakar (Kogi United), Ernest Governor (Kogi United), Ikpi Austine (MFM FC) and Adeshina Gata (Kwara United).
The newly-promoted side also acquired the services of Eugene Ossy Martins from FC Ifeanyiubah and Omolayo Ibrahim from Niger Tornadoes.
ABS will open their season against Akwa United in Ilorin on Sunday.
