French newspaper reports that the chauffeur was the last to drive the KUWTK star before the October 3 incident, where Kardashian, 36, was muzzled and tied up by five armed robbers who stole an estimated $10 million worth of jewelry, including her $4 million diamond ring from her husband Kanye West.
Meanwhile, French police are currently investigating whether Mrs West robbery was an inside job or if the driver passed information to the other suspects.
Per Le Monde insight confirms that the five masked men who physically attacked the reality star are among the 17 suspects arrested on Monday, and that their investigation was made easy after a DNA test was carried out on the duct tape.
Those believed in organizing the crime include one 72- year-old man referred to in French as “Pierre B,” and three women. Two other persons arrested were seen in Antwerp, Belgium, where police believe the stolen gems were taken.
Kardashian Impressed With Police
According to the Kardashian’s French lawyer, Jean Veil, who spoke to France 2 TV through Reuters said his client is “very happy, very satisfied and to a certain extent reassured by the efficiency of the French police.”
All 17 suspects will be detained for 96 hours before being charged or released. According to a source the homes of the suspects are still being searched and evidences seized. Prior to the arrests, there were “months of surveillance,” the source added.
The progress in the case comes few days after the TV personality her silence about the robbery in an emotional KUWTK promo on January 6.
