The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has confirmed participation of Nigeria and Egypt in the first major ITTF World Tour for 2017.
And Africa’s highest ranked player Aruna Quadri will lead four other Nigerian players to the Hungarian Open which serves off from January 19 to 22 in Budapest.
Other Nigerian players in the $70,000 prize money championship are Italy-based duo of Olajide Omotayo and Kazeem Makanjuola.
Portugal-based pair of Bode Abiodun, and Ojo Onaolapo are also in the mix.
Nigeria is expected to feature the highest number of players in the championship
In the meantime, African Champion, Egypt’s Omar Assar, will square off alongside his sibling – Khaled in the competition.
