Troops of the Nigerian Army on Saturday warded off a Boko Haram attack on Buni Yadi in Yobe State, Nigeria’s northeast region.

The attackers were said to have stormed the community at about 06:15 p.m. but were countered by troops in the area.

No casualty figure on the side of the terrorists has been confirmed.

The military said it could not also confirm if there were casualties on the part of locals or forces.

Communities in the northeast had been advised by the military to be vigilant, as they suspect members of the terrorist group chased out of their Sambisa forest enclave could infiltrate communities and carry out attacks.
