Resident Doctors at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital have demanded for a reversal of the ”No work no pay action by the Federal Government.
The doctors are urging the government to accept their demands or they would embark on a warning strike to commence January 17, 2017.
They explained that the strike is aimed at pressing home their demands for payment of salaries and step up of working conditions.
Channels TV reports that the doctors held a solemn demonstration carrying placards across the premises of the teaching hospital.
They were led by their president, Alexander Ige, who revealed that the Federal Government has not paid their two months’ salary of September and October 2016.
The doctors then wondered whey they were not paid as, according to them, other professionals are not owed.
Dr. Ige further noted that the non-implementation of the Residency Training Programme, which was agreed on, has yet to be implemented.
