President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed delight over Thursday’s recovery of another Chibok schoolgirl, Rakiya Abubakar.

Nigerian troops found Rakiya in the Alagarno area of Damboa Local Government in Borno State, northeast Nigeria.

And following Rakiya’s recovery, the President said it has raised renewed hope that the other captured girls would one day be reunited with their families, friends and community.

Buhari commends military

Buhari further applauded the military for the intense investigation which led to the recovery of Rakiya.

He then urged the troops to maintain the tempo, which saw them flush out Boko Haram members from their enclave in Sambisa Forest.

The President assured Nigerians that his administration would continue to support the military in locating the rest of the girls.

Army confirms recovery

Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, had confirmed the latest recovery to journalists.

Usman explained in a statement that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole discovered one of the abducted Chibok School girls, with her six months old baby during investigation of arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
