The Nigerian Army has commenced a process of deradicalising repentant Boko Haram members, said an army commander.
This comes after the Nigerian troops finally captured the terror group’s enclave in Sambisa Forest.
And while addressing journalists in Maiduguri, in the country’s north-east region, Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafia Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor, also made mention of other gains achieved in the past week.
But he advised civilians particularly in the northeast to be wary of fleeing insurgents who could infiltrate their communities.
Irabor further noted that the dislodgement of Boko Haram insurgents from their last bastion in Sambisa Forest had forced members of the group to flee in different directions.
