Police have arrested a Vice Principal suspected of raping his female students and three other persons allegedly engaged in various rape cases.
According to NAN, an insight on the case reports that from a statement issued by the DSP in Lafia on Wednesday, the Police Public Relation Officer, in Nasarawa State Police Command, said the Vice Principal allegedly raped the 16-year-old student on the 13th of December, 2016.
The police said that the girl was lured to a hotel in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state by the VP, where he had canal knowledge of her.
The police statement also read that two people “disguised as vigilantes, collected phones and raped two female students of Bingham University, Karu“ on Dec. 12, 2016.
Meanwhile, another rape suspect was arrested for raping a 13-year-old hawker in an uncompleted building Lafia roundabout Motor Park on Dec. 11. 2016.
Cyril Calls Rape Case Satanic
Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalist Nasarawa State chapter, Tina Cyril, reacted by describing the incidences as barbaric and satanic.
Cyril added that the association would investigate the incidence to logical conclusion, with the promise to keep advocating on the rights of the vulnerable in the state.
The Chairperson further advised parents to keep surveillance on their children especially the girls, to protect them from any form of abuse.
The police then urged the entire public, especially parents and those related to rape victims not to hesitate to report rape cases to security agencies for prosecution.
