A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison for breaking into a shop and stealing bowls of rice and bottles.
The accused, Fatai Aliyu, was convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Olusola Aluko, after he pleaded guilty.
Aliyu stole 10 bowls
The prosecutor, SP Mireti Wilson, had told the court that Aliyu stole 10 bowls of rice and four bottles of wine at 2:00 am on 29 October, at Oke – Ayepe in Osogbo.
Wilson said that the convict broke into the shop of Comfort Oke and carted away the commodities.
He said Aliyu was apprehended by security guards, who handed him over to the police.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, are punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.
