On the eve of his departure as Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole appointed four new Permanent-Secretaries, NAN reports.
Peter Okhiria, Chief Press Secretary of the governor, listed the appointees as Anthony Okungbowa, Ministry of Justice, Kadiri Bashiru, Secretary, Nigeria Labour Congress .
Others are Y.A Imoudu, Chairman, Association of Secondary School Principals and Obosamwinye Obazee, Headmistress.
The new permanent secretaries would be sworn in by the departing governor this afternoon.
Amosun commissions school, road
In a related development, the governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Thursday commissioned two projects in Benin City, Edo State capital. This brings to nine the number of projects commissioned in the week as part of the ‘Finishing Strong, Finishing Well’ agenda of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
The Ogun State governor, who commissioned the Arinze Primary School and the four-lane, 7 km, 2nd East West Circular road, complete with underground drains, walkways and street lights, said the outgoing governor has had a successful tenure as a governor.
Concise News recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier in the week commissioned six flagship projects of the Oshiomhole administration on Monday and Tuesday. These include the new 200-bed Central Hospital; 6-lane Siluko road; Samuel Ogbemudia College; reclaimed Queen Edo gully erosion site; the Ugbegun-Ujiogba-Ebudin-Igueben-Ewohinmi road; as well as the Edo University, Iyamho.
Also, Lagos State governor had honoured the outgoing Governor of Edo State by commissioning the new classroom buildings at Itohan Grammar School, Benin City.
