Former spokesperson to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Dr. Reuben Abati is in EFCC’s custody. Concise News learnt that the celebrated newspaper columnist was picked up by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at Abuja on Monday.
Sources has it that the anti-graft agency picked up Abati for complicity in receiving N50million from former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki.
Abati recently published a column in Guardian titled “The Spiritual Side of Aso Villa”, in which he alleged that spiritual forces within the villa are meddling with the well-being and decisions of the seat of the presidency.
Bala Mohammed’s was also arrested alongside Abati
The EFCC operatives also arrested former minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed and searched his Abuja home. The arrest is not unconnected with allegations of fraud involving several billions of naira. One of Bala’s sons as well as former first lady Patience Jonathan were also fingered in the fraud case.
