Embattled former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin has asked the court to withdraw his suit challenging his suspension from the House at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Jibrin’s Counsel, Chukuma Nwachukwu, told the court that his client had filed a notice of discontinuance for the case on Oct. 11.
Counsel to the defendants, Kalu Onuoha, did not oppose the application. However, he opposed the fact raised that the defendants did not filed any defence in the matter. He also asked for a cost of N200,000 for the processes filed by them.
In his judgement, Justice John Tsoho, struck out the matter. He also rejected the request of the defendants for the N200,000 cost. He held that the defendants are a strong institution and made up of strong personalities.
Jibrin, a lawmaker from Kano State, was suspended by the House of Representatives for 180 legislative days.
