The Kaduna State Police command has arraigned 11 hoodlums alleged to have destroyed properties belonging to some members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
Hoodlums had on October 12 attacked residences of suspected members of the IMN in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna, and destroyed a school belonging to the group.
Spokesman of the police command in the state ASP Aliyu Usman disclosed that the suspects were arraigned for breach of peace and breaking into people’s houses.
Usman noted that the suspects were arraigned before Daura Road Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna on October 19.
Some items recovered
The police spokesman confirmed that the suspects were arrested in possession of light weapons, cutlasses, sticks, and some accessories aalldgly stolen from the houses vandalised by the hoodlums.
He also told newsmen that the command would not allow any group of persons to take the law into their hands.
“We assure the good people of Kaduna state that we will trail all the other suspects and make sure they are prosecuted.”
