Chelsea Still Fancies Emenalo
Meanwhile, Chelsea still hold faith in director Michael Emenalo who has held the position since 2011. He supposedly offered to resign during Mourinho’s return, but it was rejected. He has survived nine years at Stamford Bridge despite several managerial and staff shake-ups.
The former Nigerian defender is highly rated by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. He is valued for his work in the club’s complex system of loans and recruitment across Europe.
However, in the heat of speculations, Emenalo’s role might be changed to accommodate the Italian.
