NYSC said it is yet to reach a conclusion on the proposed reduction potential corps members.
There has been widespread claims that the body will reduce the number of graduates to be mobilised for the 2016 batch ‘B’ orientation course by 67 per cent.
Public Relations Officer of NYSC, Mrs. Abosede Aderibigbe, has come out to refute these claims. She explained that an official statement has not been made as stakeholders are still appraising the situation. She added that the body will make an official pronouncement when it reaches a conclusion.
NYSC Refutes Claims To Reduce Corps Members
Aderibigbe said information flying around on the social media about the development was not the position of the scheme. She insisted that no pronouncement has yet been made on the matter.
“There is no pronouncement on this matter yet because stakeholders including the members of the National Assembly are still reviewing the situation.”
News had gone round that the NYSC had communicated the higher institutions to mobilise only about 33% of their usual quotas for the Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course. This is apparently due to the economic situation.
