The Nigerian army has confirmed its troops killed four suspected kidnappers in Bauchi state.
The incident happened at Sabon Kura village in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
The troops are part of the 33 Brigade Forward Operations Base in Burra area of Bauchi.
In a statement by the army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman in Abuja, the troops killed the suspects after they laid ambush for them following a tip off.
How they were killed
The kidnappers were said to be on their way to Diwwa village for kidnapping.
Troops engaged them and after exchange of gunfire, four kidnappers were confirmed dead, according to the statement.
Three Dane guns, one cutlass, three handsets, some quantity of hard drugs, and local charms were recovered from them.
