CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele announced that the apex bank will soon review its flexible exchange rate policy. This will allow more manufacturers and other end users more access to foreign exchange.
Emefiele disclosed this in Washington DC after meeting with investors and other stakeholders.
He said the policy has been commended by several stakeholders but needs fine-tuning to meet up with new realities.
This is coming amidst huge job and capacity losses in the manufacturing and other critical sectors of the economy.
The Governor added that the policy review will help revamp the industrial sector, boost job creation and manufacturing capacity,
Emefiele said the bank would ensure the policies being put in place would benefit Nigerians.
The country’s delegation had met with stakeholders from about 189 countries and the World Bank Group meetings on the country’s economic outlooks and projections.
