Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa state Ado Sani Kiri has dismissed rumours that the State House of Assembly is planning to impeach Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar.

The Peoples Democratic Party had called for the impeachment of the governor for allowing the 27 local government councils caretaker committees to stay in office after end of their tenure.

But, Kiri said Governor Abubakar had not committed any impeachable offence and could not be impeached.

He also dismissed insinuation of disunity among APC elders following the disagreement over the nomination of the party’s flag bearers in the recent local government elections.

”Reconciliation committee had already been constituted to mend fences because of the aggrieved members who lost out at the primaries,” he added.
