A meeting involving Nigeria’s Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, and the leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG) is expected to hold today.

It was also gathered that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association Of Nigeria, (PENGASSAN) would be part of the meeting.

It is aimed at trashing out disagreement between the unionist and oil companies over staff welfare.

The federal government, as it did in 2016, is mediating on the issue.

The outcome of the meeting will determine whether NUPENG will proceed on strike action, having earlier given a three-day warning.
