Abia Warriors have unveiled former Enyimba head coach Okey Emordi as their new manager.

Chairman of the club Emeka Inyama said Emordi was appointed to help reshape the Warriors towards winning laurels.

The Umuahia-based side managed to escape relegation in the recently concluded season, finishing 13th.

And elated Emordi has promised to deliver on his new task. He called for support from everyone tied to the club.

But the 2004 CAF Champions League winner with Enyimba  warned that success may not come easily, as he called for patience from supporters.

In any case, club Chairman Inyama does not want a repeat of the past. He expects Emordi to transform the side into a formidable force in the league.

“We are not happy that we struggled towards the end of last season. So this time, we want to have a strong technical crew that will be able to rise to the challenge,” he said.
